From April 4th to 7th, 2016, Shenzhen Smart Education had the privilege of participating in the 53rd Bologna Children's Book Fair, held at the Bologna Exhibition Centre, Italy. As the largest and most influential children's book fair in the world, this prestigious event attracted over 1,200 exhibitors and thousands of professionals from across the globe, including publishers, authors, illustrators, and licensing agents. The fair is renowned for its Bologna Ragazzi Award and International Illustration Award, which are some of the most coveted accolades in the global children's publishing industry.
Celebrating Creativity & Innovation
This year's fair featured a variety of highlights:
1. 50th Anniversary of the Illustration Exhibition – Celebrating 50 years of showcasing the world's best illustrators, with works from 50 international artists.
2. Germany as the Guest of Honor – Germany showcased 30 illustrators and 55 renowned international illustrators in a 317m² exhibition with the theme "look!".
3. A Hub for Copyright Trading – The fair is a global leader in copyright transactions, fostering collaboration and the exchange of children's book rights worldwide.
The fair provided an excellent platform for global networking and insights into industry trends, making it a must-attend event for professionals in the children's publishing and education sectors.
